Lunch Surprise

When I was little, my parents worked out of our town, so I always lived with my Grandma. She always prepared healthy lunches for me to take to school. Every time I opened my lunch, it would be a very big surprise. One day, my Grandma took me home earlier because I was sick. Then, I saw she only ate rice porridge for lunch. At that time, I didn’t know why she only ate it for lunch, I only thought she liked to eat rice porridge. One year, a day near her birthday, we prepared to celebrate her birthday. I suggested to my parents to take her to eat rice porridge on her birthday, but when my parents heard this idea they were very angry about that. They told me no one celebrates a birthday with rice porridge. I answered back, “Grandma always eats rice porridge, so we can take her to eat her favorite food. What is wrong?”

Dad: Where should we go for her birthday? Me: Let’s take her for rice porridge! Dad: Why would we do that?! Me: She eats it everyday, so it must be her favorite food. Then they said that rice porridge wasn’t her favorite food at all. She only ate rice porridge because she wanted you to have a healthy meal so she made sure you had everything. At that moment, I just knew I was very immature. Dad: Grandma eats porridge because she wants you to have a healthy lunch. Me: Oh! I see.

   When I studied in senior high school and stayed at the school dormitory, I began thinking about Grandma’s lunch. On the first holiday in school, I went back home and took my Grandma to eat a big meal with everything she likes to express my thanks to my Grandma.

Bettle’s Adventure

   Do you know there was a bettle village in Taiwan? In a forest near the Central mountain ranges. There was a village that many bettels lived in. One of the bettles named Hercules lived there, too. He was curious about the world outside, but other bettles always said that he thought too much. They thought he should be satisfied with this place. One day, he was really tired of this little village and wanted to explore the world. So he prepared his bag. He put a lot of leaves and fruits in his bag. So he won’t be hungry. He opened his winges and off he went! He was flying in the sky. After he passed by the forest. He saw something brown and yellow ahead. It was a desert, he saw a lot of cacti and a lot of sand.

   He saw a tarantula and a snake. The snake told him what he ate and where he lived. The tarantula told him how he hunted and how he made a nest. At the end, they became very good friends. He waved goodbye and continued on his journey. When he flew to the ocean, the tsunami knocked him out. When he woke up, he saw many colorful plants and fish around him. Suddenly, a shark swam to him and tried to bite him. A tentacle just pulled him away, so he didn’t get hurt. It was an octopus. He thanked the octopus very much. The octopus told him where she lived and took him to see her parents. When he saw their parents, he felt so scard.

   Because they were very huge. He was afraid that they could eat him, so he just quickly said goodbye and swam away. He thought ocean was a beautiful place, but too dangerous. When he got to the city, two weeks had already passed. He found a city park. He sat in a free for a break. Suddenly, a squirrel ran to him and said, ”Hi! There. Where are you from?” He told him about his story and asked the squirrel if the city was a good place. The squirrel said that the city was a terrible place. The air in the city was dirty. The traffic was bad and dangerous. The water was not crystal clear. After that, he realized that the forest was the best place for him. He flew back to his village and told them his special trip. He also told everyone that the place that he loved the most was the forest.

Funghi Fashion Show

   Once upon a time, there was a mushroom named Funghi who liked to dress up beautifully. She had a collection of clothing which was so much that she couldn’t put them in her closet. One day, she went to the park and took a walk. Suddenly, a piece of paper was blown in the wind and landed right in front of her face. “What is it?” She wondered. She took down the paper and started to read. “Welcome to the Most Popular Fashion Show” it said. “You can wear anything you like and be the most stylish person in the world. Do you want to join us? See you next Tuesday!”

   “Definitely.” Funghi yelled excitedly. She felt so happy and quickly ran home to prepare for the big show. Funghi looked at herself in the mirror. “How can I capture everyone’s attention and be the most stylish person in the world?” She asked. Soon, she thought of a way to design her clothes. She spent so much time designing her clothes that she even dozed off while making her outfit. Few days later, the fashion show started with so many audiences watching. Funghi felt so excited and nervous in the dressing room.

   “Let’s welcome our next contestant……Funghi.” said the host. Funghi took some deep breathe and walked out of the dressing room. With her confidence and smiles on her face, she walked all the way to the catwalk. Everyone was surprised by her gorgeous outfit and clapped Funghi heartily. With no surprise, Funghi was voted to be the most beautiful and stylish person with the highest score in the show. She even won the prize that worth a million dollars. “I would like to donate the money to those who need help.” Funghi said cheerfully. “Now I know what beauty means. It is not only from outside: the appearance, but also from inside: the heart.” “Thank you, everybody!”

The Unlucky Hamster

   My sister is a monster, she killed my pet within 30 minutes of me getting it. She is a murderer. A long time ago, my friend gave me a pet, it was a purple hamster and it was very cool and cute. I put it in a box at home and went to the pet store to buy some food for it, I rode my bicycle. I had enough money to buy the food for my hamster. After I bought the food for my pet, I went back home. When I open the door, I saw my sister watching TV. Then I went to feed my hamster. I put the food into the box, but it didn’t move. It stayed there for few minutes and still didn’t move. “What happened?” I said nervously, I touch it and it didn’t move, it felt like a rock. I was surprised, “Wow, wow, wow!” I can’t believe it! “It’s dead!” I am so sad because it was my first pet.

   I opened the door and asked my sister, she was watching TV “Do you know what happened to my hamster?” “I…I don’t know, did it die?” My sister said, avoiding eye contact with me. She looked nervous. “Did you kill it?” I said: ”No! It’s not me! I just gave it a bath in bathtub!” “And what else did you do?” I asked to my sister. ”I used the hair dryer to dry it.” “What an idiot you are!! I hate you idiot!” I took the hamster to the yard, I dug a hole, “Bye, Bye little thing.” I put the body into the hole and used soil to cover it. I was so sad, I stayed in the yard for few minutes and than a magical thing happened. Some plants started to grow minutes on the soil, “What?” It was so beautiful and I couldn’t believe my eyes! I will never forget this magical moment.
