My Autobiography

   Hello, I am Jacky Chen, I was born to middle class family in 1999. Two months after I was born, the worst earthquake happened to hit Taiwan. This natural disaster took the lives of hundreds of people. Luckily, my family escaped from it. When I was one year old, I could walk without any help. My first small steps were a giant leap to my parent. At the age of 3, I got my first birthday present, a cool red bike. In order to ride on it, I practiced every day. My mom said that I went riding no matter if it was rainy or sunny. Eventually, I became very good at it.

   After I entered elementary school, I met my best friend, Ken. We have had great time studying and having fun since then. He is the one who listens to me, cares about me and he is around whenever I need him. Now, I am a junior high school student. With my parents’ support and care as well as with my teachers’ and friends’ help, I learn and grow well. I thank those who have helped me. Though being under a lot of pressure, all I have to do is study hard in return. I hope I can go to a good school. I hope I will have a good job in the future. I hope I can give my parents a better life. I trust that hard work can make my dreams come true.

No More Sweets

Avril is a girl who likes to eat sweets. She often has a toothache because she doesn’t like to brush her teeth after eating sweets. Her mother always tells her not to eat too many sweets, but she never listens. One day, after seeing a dentist, Avril got two pills. The dentist told Avril she had to take one pill a day, so she would feel better. After she took the first pill, she fell asleep. Then, she came to a forest. In the forest, she saw a river chocolate, trees made of cotton candy and flowers made of lollipops. She quickly jumped into the river, had a bite of tree leaves and licked some tasty flowers. Then, she kept walking in the woods. She found a house made of cake and pie. She was very happy, so walked in without knocking on the door. “Wow!” I can eat as much as I want.” Then she started to eat the table, the chair and the window. When she was about to eat the wall, she heard strange footsteps approaching. When she turned around, she saw two big eyes staring angrily at her. They shouted at her, “How dare you! You are eating our house.” Then Avril quickly ran out of house. They started to chase Avril. She was very scared. While she was running, she found the other pill in her pocket, so she swallowed it. After that, she woke up. When she woke up, she told her mom she would never eat sweets again.

A Picnic Trip

Last spring time, my family and I went on a picnic trip to Ali Mountain. It was a nice and breezy day. When we went up to the mountain, we were not surprised to see a big crowd. People were there for the cherry blossoms and we were, too. We quickly found a big tree and settled everything on a blanket. Then, we couldn’t wait to enjoy the lovely scenery. My mom and sister loved taking photos with the cherry blossoms. They took many pictures and posted them to their facebook pages. At that time, my brother was wandering around and my father was making sandwiches and chatting with his friends on Line. I took out my binoculars and tried to find something to watch. Far be hind a tree near the bushes, there was something moving. I tried hard to focus and questioned, “What is that?” Suddenly, a big gorilla jumped out from the bushes. “Help!” I shouted as I tossed my binoculars in the air. “Dad, Mom, help! There’s a big gorilla.” As I was about to run away, the gorilla grasped my jacket and said, ”Ha, got you, silly bro.” That was my mean big brother. He made fun of me because he had nothing to do. Soon, the sun set and it was time to go home. Thought I was mad at my brother, I had a good trip, so did my family.
