Lunch Surprise

When I was little, my parents worked out of our town, so I always lived with my Grandma. She always prepared healthy lunches for me to take to school. Every time I opened my lunch, it would be a very big surprise. One day, my Grandma took me home earlier because I was sick. Then, I saw she only ate rice porridge for lunch. At that time, I didn’t know why she only ate it for lunch, I only thought she liked to eat rice porridge. One year, a day near her birthday, we prepared to celebrate her birthday. I suggested to my parents to take her to eat rice porridge on her birthday, but when my parents heard this idea they were very angry about that. They told me no one celebrates a birthday with rice porridge. I answered back, “Grandma always eats rice porridge, so we can take her to eat her favorite food. What is wrong?”

Dad: Where should we go for her birthday? Me: Let’s take her for rice porridge! Dad: Why would we do that?! Me: She eats it everyday, so it must be her favorite food. Then they said that rice porridge wasn’t her favorite food at all. She only ate rice porridge because she wanted you to have a healthy meal so she made sure you had everything. At that moment, I just knew I was very immature. Dad: Grandma eats porridge because she wants you to have a healthy lunch. Me: Oh! I see.

   When I studied in senior high school and stayed at the school dormitory, I began thinking about Grandma’s lunch. On the first holiday in school, I went back home and took my Grandma to eat a big meal with everything she likes to express my thanks to my Grandma.

The Unlucky Hamster

   My sister is a monster, she killed my pet within 30 minutes of me getting it. She is a murderer. A long time ago, my friend gave me a pet, it was a purple hamster and it was very cool and cute. I put it in a box at home and went to the pet store to buy some food for it, I rode my bicycle. I had enough money to buy the food for my hamster. After I bought the food for my pet, I went back home. When I open the door, I saw my sister watching TV. Then I went to feed my hamster. I put the food into the box, but it didn’t move. It stayed there for few minutes and still didn’t move. “What happened?” I said nervously, I touch it and it didn’t move, it felt like a rock. I was surprised, “Wow, wow, wow!” I can’t believe it! “It’s dead!” I am so sad because it was my first pet.

   I opened the door and asked my sister, she was watching TV “Do you know what happened to my hamster?” “I…I don’t know, did it die?” My sister said, avoiding eye contact with me. She looked nervous. “Did you kill it?” I said: ”No! It’s not me! I just gave it a bath in bathtub!” “And what else did you do?” I asked to my sister. ”I used the hair dryer to dry it.” “What an idiot you are!! I hate you idiot!” I took the hamster to the yard, I dug a hole, “Bye, Bye little thing.” I put the body into the hole and used soil to cover it. I was so sad, I stayed in the yard for few minutes and than a magical thing happened. Some plants started to grow minutes on the soil, “What?” It was so beautiful and I couldn’t believe my eyes! I will never forget this magical moment.

The Next Hero

   Once upon a time, there was an island named “Cali.” They have a tradition that when a boy came of age he would be sent to hunt for something in the dark forest. One year a boy named Smith turned fifteen. The tribe’s leader knew how strong Smith was, so he assigned a difficult task. He had to hunt and kill a black bear. This was a very hard mission because the bears are much bigger than most of the men. Before he started, he imagined all the things that may happen in the forest. Although, it was very dangerous, Smith was still very excited and dreamed of being the best and strongest man. On the first hunting day, he felt a little scared but mostly excited. At the beginning of the ceremony, there were a lot of people there to watch him walk into the forest.

   He had trained for this ritual, so he had the knowledge about what to eat to survive in the forest. In the forest, there were lots of trees and plants that he had never seen before. He also saw many kinds of animal that watched him carefully. He thought, “I must find the block bear as fast as I can!” On the fifth hunting day, he finally found a bear footprint. He took his knife out and made it sharp. He followed the footprint then he found a cave where the bear lived, he walked in…. Smith was scared but he needed to be brave to hunt the bear. He walked slowly and quietly…. Suddenly, a big bear started running very quickly to him. “Ahhh!!” Smith screamed. As the bear came close to him, he raised his knife and stabbed into the bear’s body. Luckily, the bear fell down. So, Smith had won. After that, he was surprised and happy that he caught a bear when he went back to the village with the bear, everyone cheered for him and he was very proud, he was a hero. Who wants to be the next hero? The forest is waiting for you!

The Adventures of A Thousand Dollars

There was a little girl named Lillia. Her mother gave her one thousand dollars to buy food.She liked to draw happy faces on things, so she drew a smiley face on the note. She was walking and then all a sudden a gust of wind came. The one thousand dollars blew out of her hand, onto the ground. Lillia started to chase after the note but it kept wandering away with the wind when it blew. She lost the note!There was a series of events that happened next. Firstly, the thousand-dollar note blew into the circus. It passed through a ring of fire, crossed the path of an acrobat in mid-air, and then it blew outside.

It began to rain, but the thousand-dollar note seemed to have a mind of its own. The note was not afraid of the impact of wind and rain, and continued to fly in the air bravely.After the rain stopped, it gradually fell down and fell into a river. Then it blew down a hill and moved slowly to the sea by the wind. One day, Lillia who lost the thousand-dollar note went to the beach to play. Suddenly, she saw a note floating in the sea. She picked it up and started smiling. Then she discovered that it was her thousand-dollar note because she saw the smiley face she had drawn on it. This time she had a tight grip on the note!
